Editor's Note: The video above shows KXAN Live’s top headlines for July 18, 2023TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) -- Travis County Commissioners Court received an update Tuesday on a new remote work test pilot that began for certain county employees.In May 2020, county commissioners approved the eventual creation of a plan that would "result in 75% of eligible positions to telework on a permanent basis," per county documents. In 2021, the county hired Deloitte Consulting, LLP to run an initial test pilot, with a project kick-off in June 2021 and work on Phase 2 of the pilot beginning in February of this year.Deloitte and Travis County launched a six-week test pilot Monday, working with groups within the county's transportation and natural resources, human resources and information technology services departments on the initiative.The goal of the test pilot is to measure how successfully the county can create an adaptive work environment while continuing to deliver key services to its cust...Music legend Dionne Warwick to perform in Rutland

WASHINGTON, Mo. – The Applebee’s in Washington, Missouri is hoping for a large turnout this Wednesday, July 19. Not just for good business, but more importantly, for an important cause.The restaurant is hosting a Dine & Donate event to support a wounded Hermann police officer.Adam Sullentrup, 31, was critically injured when he and his partner, Det. Sgt. Mason Griffith, were shot while trying to arrest a suspect at a convenience store the evening of March 12. Griffith did not survive.Sullentrup is now being treated at a specialized facility in Inglewood, Colorado. Michelle Sullentrup says her husband is making great progress, and that he recently walked around a lake and had a picnic. He’s still working with specialists on communication skills.Sullentrup was first treated at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, where he spent days in the neuro-ICU. The Weld County District Attorney on Tuesday cleared four Greeley police officers after they shot and killed a man in April, according to a District Attorney’s Office news release.Officers were attempting to contact the man, identified Tuesday as Ernesto Flores, in connection to a different shooting about 11:45 a.m. April 29 in the 1800 block of 27th Street, a Greeley Police Department news release from April stated.When officers arrived, the police statement said, Flores began shooting at officers, and the officers returned fire and hit Flores. He died at the scene.The 19th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team investigated the shooting, and District Attorney Michael J. Rourke determined the four officers involved were justified in the shooting.However, a charge of tampering with physical evidence was filed against a woman involved in the incident. Denver police on Tuesday were investigating a homicide west of downtown near the intersection of Federal Boulevard and 19th Avenue.The identity of the victim was not released.Police were working at the scene — a couple blocks northwest of Empower Field at Mile High — after responding to a report of a dead body shortly after midnight, according to agency postings on Twitter. A spectacular picture recently appeared on social media of a young lady in Arizona. She was poised on the edge of a cliff emblazoned with sunset colors. Immediately her online followers clamored to know where the picture was taken, so “I can get one just like it.”Turns out that it was taken on an off-trail route at the end of a potholed dirt road on the Navajo Nation, and required a permit to even enter the area.
